My father was a self-employed antique restorer/upholsterer so I grew up around woodworking. From an early age I was helping him around his workshop and, whilst my friends were playing xBox, I was earning 50p for a couple hours hard graft after school. Joinery comes very natural to me and whilst I didn’t pursue this career straight away, I’ve been working in other trades including plumbing and the electrical industry which has expanded my knowledge and the crossover is very beneficial to my joinery work. Especially kitchen fitting and media walls.
